Bodegón La Cañada was born on October 9, 2008, as the dream of a family deeply connected to the hospitality industry. Our origins go back several generations: our paternal great-grandfather ran a tavern in Cumbres Mayores, and our grandfather dedicated his entire life to this profession, which we continue today with the same respect, passion, and dedication.
For us, La Cañada is more than just a bar; it's a home. From day one, we wanted it to be a meeting place, a space to celebrate, share, and enjoy life, where everyone who walks through the door feels right at home. The project began with a plot of land on Calle de las Cañadas in La Palma del Condado, which we transformed into a traditional wine cellar: wooden ceilings, rustic bricks, farm implements, and a decor that pays homage to our roots and the land.
We are a family business dedicated to traditional Mediterranean and Andalusian cuisine, based on respect for the ingredients, time-honored recipes, and the love put into every dish. On February 25, 2021, our story took an unexpected turn. A fire destroyed everything. Nothing was left: no tables, no chairs, no equipment, no decorations… we even lost items of great sentimental value. Only ashes remained, but our desire to carry on never faded.
After ten months of hard work, renovations, and a lot of enthusiasm, we reopened our doors on December 9, 2021. We were reborn with a fresh new look, simpler décor, vaulted ceilings, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere, designed so that every customer feels at home again at La Cañada. We kept many of the dishes that have always been part of our menu, but we also added new offerings, combining Andalusian tradition with modern touches, without ever losing our identity. Today, Bodegón La Cañada remains what it always was: a story of family, hard work, perseverance, and a love for the hospitality industry. A place where the past and present meet around a table.
